I am trained as a boxer for Kadugu, says Bharath
Actor Bharath, who made his debut with Boys, is known for picking performance-oriented roles in each of his films. The actor plays a boxer in his upcoming film Kadugu, directed by cinematographer- turned-director Vijay Milton.
Speaking to DC, about his role, Bharath says, “ My character, Nambi is a township boxer, who has money and power to add up to his persona in Kadugu. I don’t play a negative character in the movie, but my character has traces of evil.
I underwent professional training from coach Raja, who trained Jayam Ravi and Ritika Singh for Booloham and Irudhi Suttru respectively.” The actor trained for about 25 days and gained five kilos to achieve a beefed-up look onscreen.
Kadugu’s story revolves around three main characters — Rajakumaran, Bharath and Bharath Sreeni. This thriller drama also has Subiksha and Kuttram Kadithal fame Radhika Prasidhha in pivotal roles.
When quizzed about how his previous films failed to catapult him to fame, he added, “I’ve always had zero expectations for my films. I put in my best work and we know that this industry survives on uncertainty. In this 14-year-long journey, I’ve learnt to leave the results to the audience. I will continue working hard, and it will make me survive in this industry.”
Bharath now has Kadugu, Simba, Ennodu Vilayadu, and Pottu in different stages of production.
