Bollywood actor Rohit Roy was heavily trolled for posting a joke about superstar Rajinikanth ‘testing positive’ for coronavirus on his Instagram handle recently.
Rohit’s joke read

“Rajinikanth tested +ve for Corona. Corona is now under quarantine.” “Let’s beat the shit outa the corona!! Be safe when u get back to work! Wear your masks n keep washing n sanitising several times a day, as much as possible... The virus can’t affect us unless WE LET IT! #staysafe” he had written.

The joke did not go well with several of Rajini’s fans who started slamming the Kaabil actor.

Akshayfirodiya5real wrote, “If it’s a joke then shame on you.”

Colorsandphotography posted, “Omg...it was a bad joke..plz dont share such things..I live in Tamil Nadu and here people worship Rajnikanth ji...sapne main bhinahi soch sakte...I was just sharing this joke with my domestic helpers and they all were shocked for a while.”

Yet another follower wrote, “This is insensitivity and lack of sympathy for those who suffered a lot unlike u, being a star and getting bored in ur lavish house. I know once this is over u will get back to work. So hope ur popularity and followers increased many times after this.”

“Our taste, sensitivity, aesthetics are just gone. All these types of jokes are simply in very very bad taste. This should not be the culture of India. Feeling sad,” posted another user.

Following multiple negative comments, Rohit reacted. “Guys chill… don’t be so morose,” he wrote.

“A joke is a joke.. and sorry I don’t think it’s in bad taste.. it’s a typical Rajini sir joke.. and my intention was to make you guys smile.. look at the intention before you start commenting.. at least I didn’t crack a joke to hurt you all like you all are posting messages deliberately to hurt me.”
