The first look of comedian turned hero Santhanam’s next Dagaalty unveiled on Thursday has created a buzz. Apparently, akin to Vijay’s first look in Sarkar, Santa looks stylish while wearing a black shirt with black shades and is poised to light a cigar. And at a time when Rajini, Vijay, Dhanush and Sivakarthikeyan are getting flak for their smoking acts from moral policing politicians leading to some of them even resolving not to sport a similar look, Santa’s bold poster is sure to stir up a controversy.
Yogi Babu, the comedian of choice in Tamil cinema now, will be sharing screen space with Santhanam. And bringing the duo together is debutant director Vijay Anand, a former associate of ace Shankar in movies like 2.O and I.
“In the action comedy on the lines of Jackie Chan films Santhanam has performed a few daredevil stunts under the guidance of action choreographer ‘Stunt’ Silva", says Vijay. Popular Bengali actress Rithika Sen plays Santa’s pair. Radha Ravi, Rekha, Hemant Pandey and Manobala form the supporting cast. Produced by SP Chowdhary’s 18 Reels, Vijay Narain debuts as the music composer.
