Rajinikanth and Kamal to watch Enkitte Modhathe?
The cut-out culture, which came into prominence in 80s, with Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan fans always at loggerheads when their matinee idols’ films were released, is now the core theme of debutant Ramu Chellapa’s film Enkitte Modhathe. Featuring Natarajan Subramanian and Rajaji as the leads, the movie is based on a real-life incident — the murder of a politician, during the release of these two actors’ films during the late 80s, when the fans were divided over an issue.
Enkitta...revolves around two individuals, who are into painting and erecting hoardings for the stars. While Natraj paints only Rajini film, Rajaji of Moodar Koodam fame, paints only Kamal’s. Sanchitha Shetty and sParvathy Nair play their romantic interests, respectively. Speaking on the occasion, Natraj thanked Soundarya Rajinikanth, for selecting him for the film, when she was heading Eros International, which is producing the movie.
He adds, “After completing the script, Ramu Chellappa, who was an assistant to Pandiraj, met director Sasikumar to fine tune it. It was Sasi who told Chellappa to approach me for the role of the Rajini fan since he felt that I would be apt for the role. I want to thank him having faith in me. The film is a commercial venture that loosely deals with friendship, betrayal and so on. The team plans to hold special screening of Enkitte Modhathe for both Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan soon.
