Udhayaraj, a well-known name in the Malayalam short film circuit, is debuting in Tamil with a film titled Reel. Directed by Munusamy, it is a love story that revolves around a boy who is an unemployed and a girl from a village and how the society treats them.

Speaking about his character in Reel, Udhayaraj said, “The film revolves around two different lifestyles. Precisely, this is a film about a boy who is from an affluent family background and the girl from a village comes to the city for her livelihood. Her innocent nature makes everyone cheat her. So what unfolds next is how these characters come across each other. The story will take a turn of events by second hour with lots of suspense. The climax is riveting and unpredictable. It has lot of scope for emotional performance.”

“Though I got offers from Malayalam films, I was keen to make a mark in Tamil and hence I grabbed the opportunity with Reel,” he says. Avantika who was seen in a role in Vaandu has been elevated to a heroine in Reel.
