Nayanthara is going great guns! The actress who had a dream run in 2017 has signed on the dotted line for a horror thriller directed by Sarjun KM, who hit the limelight with his controversial short films including Lakshmi and Maa. From the first look, it is apparent the movie is a female centric one and a hardcore thriller. Kotapadi J Rajesh of KJR Studios, who made Nayan's earlier blockbuster Aramm, is bankrolling the project.
Sarjun's debut feature film with Sathyaraj and Varalaxmi titled Echarikkai idhu Manidhargal Nadamaadum Idam is yet to hit the marquee. So how did he land up with a Nayan project, we ask, and an excited Sarjun says, “Rajesh sir called me and asked if I have any interesting story for a feature. I told him one and never knew it is going to reach Nayanthara ma'am. After that when he asked me if I could narrate it to Nayanthara ma'am, I was very thrilled and was even happier when she said she liked the script very much.” Apparently, Nayan had also watched his short film Maa and liked it.
On how it is different from other routine horror movies, he says, “This is an emotional horror film. Even as I was writing this script, I wished to get a huge star/actor and having got Nayan madam, I couldn't have asked for more,” he signs off with a smile.
Meanwhile, after months of speculation as to who would be Ajith's heroine in his upcoming Viswaasam, it is official that Nayan, who has worked with Thala in Billa, Aegan and Arrambam, will share screen space with him.
