Guru Somasundaram of Joker fame is mighty choosy when it comes to his scripts. The method actor reveals he has no apprehensions about playing a gangster in the crime thriller Vanjagar Ulagam.
The film has been directed by Manoj Beedha, a former assistant of SP Jananathan, and it features Tollywood actress Anisha Ambrose making her debut as the female lead. It also has Chandini Tamilarasan playing a powerful character.
Speaking about his experience working on the film, Guru says, “The work environment was so congenial. I never came across a situation, where I questioned my role or the scene. Writer Vinayak was always with me, detailing everything, and that made my work a lot easier. VU is one of the best films of my career so far.”
The film’s supporting cast includes Harish Peradi, John Vijay, Visagan, Jayapraksh and Cibi. Sam CS’s music is said to be one of the highlights of the film. VU is touted to be the first Tamil movie to combine Carnatic music, dubstep and trap music in the song Kannanin Leelai.
