Ashok Selvan in Lakshmy's next
Even though Ashok Selvan’s previous film 144 received positive reviews from the critics, it had a luke-warm response at the box-office. The actor hasn’t had a single release post 2015, but is keeping himself busy with a promising line-up of projects.
He is currently shooting for Nenjamellam Kaadhal, directed by Nirman and an untitled film with Metro director Ananda Krishnan.
The actor is now on the brink of signing yet another film. Ashok has been approached by director Lakshmy Ramakrishnan for her next. A source close to the team reveals, “Talks with Ashok have been going on for a while and he is most likely to come onboard. An official announcement regarding the movie will be out soon.”
We had reported earlier that Lakshmy has been trying to acquire the rights of Bollywood flick, Hindi Medium, starring Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar. “Lakshmy ma’am went to Mumbai to meet the producers of the movie. But, it didn’t materialise. Her upcoming film is something on the lines of Hindi Medium. She is considering Aishwarya Rajesh, Nandita Swetha and Manjima Mohan for the female lead. Currently, the scripting work is underway,” the source adds.
Ashok is upbeat about the release of his next film, Kootathil Oruthan, which is slated to release sometime this month.
