National award winning filmmaker Vasanta Balan lashed out at TFPC president Vishal for not effectively controlling the piracy in Tamil cinema at the recent promo meet of Podhu Nalan Karudhi. The film directed by Zion talks about the predicaments of common people face from moneylenders who charge exorbitant interest rates in ‘Kandhu Vatti’. The movie features Santhosh Prathap, Adith Arun, Anu Sithara and Karunakaran.
“Sarvam Thaala Mayam and Peranbu which garnered good reviews was on TamilRockers on the day of release itself. TFPC President has been a ‘Thupparivalan’, he uses ‘Irumbuthirai’ to control things, but why can’t he do something to curb TamilRockers? Small movies in Tamil cinema are on the verge of extinction. But big films are getting released without any problems,” he lamented.
Meanwhile, Vishal who met TN CM Edappadi Palanisamy has requested the government to intervene to eliminate TamilRockers once for all. “TFPC members met CM to thank him for the wonderful arrangements made towards security provided for the successful show of Ilaiyaraaja 75. We also placed certain requests for the council with him.” He added that TN government which has all the power can run down TamilRockers website in no time.
