Manjima Mohan who was introduced in Tamil films by none other than Gautham Menon in Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada is presently busy acting in the Malayalam remake of Queen, which she says, is an exciting project. The actress appreciated Amala Paul and Sanusha on her social media handle for coming out in the open and talking about sexual harassment incidents. She also wrote abot the need for not treating women as sexual objects.
“I remember my brother once telling me to carry a pepper spray when I travel alone. I used to be very confident at that point and tell him that ‘Are you mad?’ Women are much safer these days than before”. But after reading about a couple of incidents, I really feel, just a pepper spray is not enough! I hope things will change and they stop treating women as sexual object and may be a little bit of respect would be good,” she said.
When one of her followers suggested, “My little advice, please get married quickly. Protecting virginity is tougher than planning an anti missile defence these days. Take care,” apparently didn't go down well with the Ippadai Vellum actress.
She retorted saying, "Oh marriage is the solution! Wow! And it's not always about virginity sir! There is something called self-respect too.”
