Actress and choreographer Gayathri Raghuramm has lashed out at the BJP state president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan. She wants the party to remove her from her post if they want the party to grow in the south.
A tiff between them started when Tamiliasi was asked about party member Gayathri Raghuramm being booked in an alleged drunken driving case. Tamilisai replied that the ‘Bigg Boss’ contestant was no longer a member of BJP. “She has left the party to take part in Bigg Boss show,” Tamilisai had reportedly stated.
Gayathri, however, denied consuming alcohol while driving and she has been targeted because she is a national BJP member. Gayathri was appointed as BJP’s secretary for arts in Tamil Nadu in 2015. She had joined the party in 2014 in the presence of BJP president Amit Shah.

Tamilisai’s reply didn’t go down well with Gayathri who started lashing out on her in a series of tweets. Her initial tweet was - Dear @DrTamilisaiBJPmadam I’m member of Bjp through computerised machine. You cannot include and exclude as u wish. It’s not local party. It’s a national party. Second of all ur TN bjym work and leader against women blackmail and threaten them. Can’t question them?”
She added, “I’m here for @narendramodi not for local faces of TN BJP. Try to include ppl in your party instead of chasing away ppl. You have no role to say who to include and exclude. Ur just the president of @BJP4TamilNadu not BJP itself. u can’t decide my fate @DrTamilisaiBJP”

Reacting to the statement that she opted out of the party to take part in Bigg Boss, the Charlie Chaplin actress said, “One more clarification @DrTamilisaiBJP as a leader don’t twist words. I only informed you and Poonam ji that I will be taking part in BB and I won’t be available for 3 months. After that I did attend bjp functions. A leader manipulative words! How will TN trust you?”
On December 3, Ms Raghuramm’s campaign against Tamilisai reached its peak. She said the BJP will grow in Tamil Nadu only if the leadership is changed. She posted, “This is not my voice. I’m voicing out for tnbjp workers who r not allowed to work for bjp. In last 5 years @DrTamilisaiBJP did improve @BJP4 TamilNadu? Could she connect with TN ppl ? Did she convey and take the achievements of @narendramodi ? Bjp wins everywhere but Tamil Nadu.”
In yet another tweet, Gayathri added,” I know there are many of us is displeased with @Dr TamilisaiBJP mam’s leadership. With her blind actions rational decision and Defaming @BJP4 TamilNadu. If anyone interested in joining hands with me to write to national leaders @BJP4 TamilNadu we need change do not fear.”
