Sivakarthikeyan, the happening K’town star, has resolved to not endorse any product in the future, as a particular highly emotional segment in his upcoming flick, Velaikkaran, in Mohan Raja’s direction, was an eye-opener in arriving at this
decision.

“I want to follow what I speak on screen. I’ve endorsed products in the past. But not anymore! I don’t want to impact people in a negative manner,” Siva asserted at the audio launch of his movie.

Though he didn’t want to reveal the story, all he said was people, especially children, take things that are endorsed by stars, seriously — “They blindly believe and use them, which sometimes have adverse repercussions. Mohan Raja sir has kept a similar sequence in the film and when it was shot, I was moved by it and my eyes were filled with tears. I noticed the entire team, who were there during the shooting, in a similar state of mind. I realised that ‘reality bites’ and hence came to this conclusion.”

He also said that if he does nine entertaining films, he would do one, which will impart knowledge and message to the society. “Having worked in Velaikkaran, which deals with aspirations, hard work and ambition of lower class people, I would proudly say that it helped me turn a better human being as well,” he stated.

The Kakki Sattai star disclosed that it was he, who called Mohan Raja, and pitched his interest in working with him. “I watched Thani Oruvan twice and was deeply impressed. I then called Raja sir and evinced my keenness to work with him. People call Raja sir as a ‘remake specialist’. But according to me, remaking a film is a challenging task and to be precise, I refused at least 10 films, which were remakes, as I strongly opine that acting in remakes is tough.”

Although his costar Nayanthara, as usual, was not present during the launch, Siva was all praises for her dedication and punctuality. “I met Nayan during Aegan and later she danced for a song in my film, Ethir Neechal, without even taking any remuneration. After that, I met her only during Velaikkaran shooting. She is very focused and is present on the shooting spot ahead of time. She would even sit throughout the day, despite completing her scenes. Her self assurance and self-confidence has given her an individual market.”

The actor, known for his witty talks, admits that without Anirudh, he is nobody. “Twitteraties say that I survive only because of Ani’s music. Yes, I do agree! I am collaborating with Anirudh for the fifth time and he has time given me fabulous albums, every time. If I count film 3, where I played a supporting role, this is my sixth,” Siva added.
