Actress Mahima Nambiar forayed into the Tamil industry with Anbazhagan’s Saattai, in which, she essayed the role of a school student. The actress, who is awaiting the release of Kuttram 23, also has Annanukku Jai which is in the post production phase.
Directed by Rajkumar, Annanukku Jai is a political comedy with Attakathi Dinesh playing the lead role. Speaking about her role, Mahima says, “I play a village belle and I always get into fights with Dinesh. So far in my career, I’ve never portrayed the role of an arrogant woman, which is why this character is different. Also, the director insisted that I don’t wear make-up for my role.”
Mahima also claims that she had to spend a day at a girl’s school in Thiruvannamalai to learn the body language of the people living there. “It was a great experience and I had fun conversing with them. This helped me play my role to the T,” she adds.
The Ennamo Nadakudhu actress is excited that she dubbed for herself for the first time. “In order to stay true to the character, director Rajkumar said that I take a voice test and dub for myself. I was very nervous as I am not fluent in Tamil. But, the entire crew helped me and I have completed dubbing my portions,” she explains.
