Earlier on, we told you that Amala Paul would be teaming up with Rathna Kumar of Meyaadha Maan fame for a movie titled Aadai (Attire). The director had told us then that the film would address the issue of where a line should be drawn when it came to matters of freedom, but he wasn’t willing to tell us anymore.
Now, we hear that Aadai will showcase how people can fall victim to mismanagement on social media. Looks like the crux of the story is - nothing happens without a reason on social media, and you may have to pay a price for it. Going by the film’s first look, the repercussions that Amala’s character appears to be facing seem rather severe.
The actress, who has turned down a fair few projects in order to be able to take this one up, says “Aadai isn’t a regular film. Projects like this fuel an artiste’s quest to deep dive into oneself and bring out layers of human emotion. The intricacies of my character, Kaamini, give me the jitters. But after watching Rathna Kumar’s Meyaadha Maan, I am confident in his ability to weave storylines into an engaging narrative. I wish to thank V Studio’s Subbu Narayanan for backing Aadai and paving a concrete path towards a new era in Tamil cinema”.
In an earlier interview with DC, Rathna Kumar had said that Aadai would not be a typical female-centric film about women’s empowerment, and it would not be a supernatural thriller either. He promised that it would break stereotypes with its sensational theme.
