Tamannah to perform in IPL opener

Tamannah will be joining a long list of stars that includes Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Hrithik Roshan, and Parineeti Chopra.

Every year the opening ceremony of Indian Premier League features glamorous performances by spritely stars from tinsel town who would light up the stage. IPL-11, which begins on April 7, seems no different. This year, Tamannah will be joining a long list of stars that includes Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Hrithik Roshan, and Parineeti Chopra. Tamannah will be lending glamour shaking a leg in the opening day ceremony.

Ranveer Singh was supposed to perform in the closing act at the ceremony, but he is said to have backed out in the last minute due to his shoulder injury.

Meanwhile, to get some respite from the ongoing Tamil film industry strike, a popular theatre complex named Udhayam in the city wants to screen the IPL live and has reportedly asked for permission to do the same. The statement reads, “Since there have been no new film releases, we haven't been getting any revenue and the government hasn’t gotten their GST as well. For our as well as the government’s benefit, we request you to grant us permission to live screen the VIVO IPL 2018 at our theatre.” But that may not be possible as the rights are with the BCCI.
