It has been six months since Karthik Kumar created a stir on social media, when he announced that he was quitting films — to focus on what he knew best — stand-up comedy and theatre. For the last couple of years, he has been concentrating more on his stage acts, performing across India and overseas, to great critical and commercial acclaim for his gigs.
A month ago though, Karthik and his wife, singer Suchitra made headlines for the wrong reasons when the latter’s Twitter account was hacked and explicit messages/ photos concerning several actors in the industry were posted.. terming the entire phenomenon to be nicknamed, the now-infamous ‘SuchiLeaks’.
Since then, Suchi’s account has been deactivated and she has been off the radar after husband Karthik whisked her away for a break from all the chaos! The couple, who are currently in the U.S, recovering from the traumatic happenings of the last few weeks, seem to be well and truly happy now, putting the scandal behind.
Earlier yesterday, Karthik even posted a video on his social media handle, announcing that he’s working on content for his next show. In the video, he’s seen saying — “Sitting in the USA, writing my next comedy special. Releasing in September 2017. What is it about?” He then pans the phone camera towards Suchi who is engrossed in reading a book, and then goes, “Take a wild guess!”
Knowing the funnyman’s wicked sense of humour, we wouldn’t be surprised if #SuchiLeaks is the theme of his next offering!
After all, if you can’t laugh at yourself... but boy, aren’t we glad to see the much-adored couple doing fantastic. Here’s wishing them the very best!
