Samantha Akkineni plays Vaembu (meaning Neem in Tamil) in the film Super Deluxe, which was revealed through a promo teaser, released recently by its director Thiagarajan Kumararaja. The film has Vijay Sethupathi essaying a transgender Shilpa and his first look released earlier had created a huge buzz .
The intriguing video where Sam is carrying a butcher’s knife to kill someone who is lying down and a man (whose face not shown) sitting silently besides her is going viral. Considering that Kumararaja is known for his hard-hitting themes with well-etched characters, Sam’s role would also be something out-of-the-box and sensational. And it looks like it is a challenging makeover for the Theri actress.
The movie also has Fahadh Faasil who made an impressive debut in K’town with Velaikkaran, Gayathri, Myskkin, Nadhiya and Baghavathy in important roles.
Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the music for the film. The film has three directors as co-writers namely Mysskin, Nalan Kumarasamy and Neelan Shankar.
