GV Prakash and Abarnathi had to run to for their lives as violence broke out at the location where they were shooting for their upcoming flick Jail. The film, which is said to be based on rowdyism in Chennai, is being directed by national award winner Vasantabalan.

The movie was extensively shot in the city in Kannagi Nagar on OMR notorious for violent outbursts of gang rivalry. On a particular day when the shooting of Jail with the lead pair was going on at a brisk pace, two rival gangs came from nowhere and began fighting violently with sickles, stones and sticks near the film shooting spot. Shell-shocked after witnessing the real fight, the entire unit ran for their lives with technicians carrying their hardware. GV Prakash and Abarnathi had to reportedly barge into someone’s house and take refuge. ‘It took almost two hours for the real fight to subside and the film shooting resumed thereafter.
