Suriya is a real life hero too: RS Anandakumar

The cinematographer says that he sees Suriya as a real life hero too.

Cinematographer RS Anandakumar is a happy man these days. He has been getting accolades for his work in the recently released fun filled entertainer in the Jyotika starrer Jackpot. “All credit goes to my mentor Ravivarma,” is how he starts his conversation with DC.

He adds, “ Since I worked with director Kalyaan in his earlier film Gulebhagavali, we gel very well. And the most challenging aspect of Jackpot was I was to handle three cameras simultaneously every day. Since there were many artistes in each frame and we were to complete the film in a short time, this arrangement was inevitable. And if you notice, we had deliberately used vibrant colours in each and every frame. And the movie was completed in 30 days time.”

Heaping praises on Jyotika he says, “She is so down to earth and even though the film was shot in their home banner, she would prefer to sit with others and watch all the artistes perform. She would not demand anything extra. And you know, she did a dance sequence without taking a break. A dedicated person, who is always active, she did the action sequences without a body double.”

Revathi was equally enthusiastic, he adds. “Despite her stature, she would calmly listen to the director and act accordingly. She is also punctual to shooting.”

The cinematographer says that he sees Suriya as a real life hero too. “Suriya not only preaches in his films, he practices what he preaches in real life too. He lets his wife Jo madam to act in films, helps in women empowerment etc.”

Anand is presently busy with a Bollywood project Kalicharan, which is directed by Vijay Thanki.
