Samantha's vintage touch to her wedding

Samantha and Naga Chaitanya are set to tie the knot in a three-day celebration in October.

As tinsel town’s adorable couple Samantha and Naga Chaitanya are set to tie the knot in a three-day celebration in October, preparations are in full swing for their grand destination wedding in Goa. Most important of all, the trousseau for the bride and groom is being custom-made. But there’s something special that the actress is set to adorn on one of the days — a vintage saree of D. Ramanaidu’s wife D. Rajeswari, the maternal grandmother of her fiancé.

Kresha Bajaj who had earlier designed the engagement saree of the actress, which grabbed a lot of eyeballs owing to the unique story embroidery it had, has been brought in this time too. We checked with Samantha, who will be sporting a gown for a Christian ceremony on one of the days, as to why she was reviving an old saree and if it was a conscious effort as part of the handloom reviving campaign she has been running for several days. She shares, “Well, I don’t have to make a conscious effort. It comes very naturally to me because as a person, I love anything that is vintage and old. I love things that have a story connected to them. And this is my own story.”

Elaborating on her love for vintage, she shares, “I collect vintage items. In fact, much of the jewellery I own is vintage. I am really glad and honoured to be wearing it.” Apparently, Kresha and Samantha have discussed elaborately on how they intend to give a new spin to the saree. They are said to be keen to give the saree a modern touch.
