No adult content in Iravaakaalam
SJ Suryah has been on a high post-Karthik Subbaraj’s Iraivi. The filmmaker who bagged three big flicks — Nenjam Marappadhillai with Selvaraghavan, Mersal with Atlee and Spyder with AR Murugadoss, has been roped in for Iravaakalam in which he is sharing screen space with Wamiqa Gabbi and Sshivada Nair. The teaser of Iravaa...which was released on Thursday, has raised huge curiosity. When asked if the film touches upon adult content, director Ashwin Saravanan of Maya fame denies any such speculation.
“Irandha kaalam denotes the past — time which is dead. Iravaakaalam means the time which is still alive or active. It is a very intense story and rooted in the relationship between three characters SJS, Sshivada and Wamiqa. Even though time passes, the deeds you have done (good or bad) will come back and haunt you — this is the core theme,” Ashwin tells DC.
But the concept will be relatable and is a straight forward film, he vouches. On choosing SJ Suryah, he says, “I loved Suryah sir’s powerful performance in Iraivi. I went and narrated my subject and he liked it and came on board.” Even in the promo, Ashwin has adopted a novelty. The current teaser featuring SJ Suryah and Sshivada says Andru and Ashwin says the next teaser with SJS and Wamiqa will have Indru as the caption.
