SPB renders lullaby in Ilayaraaja composition
A cold war between the two music legends Ilayaraaja and SP Balasubramaniam came to an end recently when they hugged each other and broke the ice. They were also seen together on stage at a recent concert in the city.
Now, we hear that SPB, who was not singing Raja’s compositions in the last few years, is back in the fold and has rendered a melody ‘Vaa Vaa En Magane’, a lullaby penned by Pazhani Bharathi for one of his upcoming films titled Tamilarasan.
The film has Vijay Antony in the lead with Remya Nambeesan playing his pair. Directed by Babu Yogeswaran, the ensemble supporting cast includes Suresh Gopi, Radha Ravi, Sonu Sood, Yogi Babu, Sangeetha, Kasturi, Robo Shankar, Chaya Singh, Kathir, Maunishkanth, Madhumitha, YG Mahendran, Srilekha and director Mohan Raja’s little son Pranav making his debut.
‘Apparently, they went nostalgic and shared their memorable moments during the recording’, says a studio source. One may recall yet another iconic singer KJ Yesudas crooned a revolutionary number for Tamilarasan recently, which marked their collaboration after a decade.
