Jeevan back with a sci-fi thriller

Directed by GK, who has few short films to his credit, it is touted to be a sci-fi thriller.

Villain turned hero Jeevan, last seen in the movie Adhibar on the real estate mafia, is back after a sabbatical with a movie titled Asariri. Directed by GK, who has few short films to his credit, it is touted to be a sci-fi thriller.

“The story is totally fictional with fantasy elements added to it. Asariri means ‘Astral voice’. Hindu mythology says that ‘Asariri’ comes from divine sources. It is about a guy Viswamithran essayed by Jeevan who is highly knowledgeable who goes into research on something using like artificial intelligence. He lands himself in a quandary, which puts his wife and daughter in trouble. The emotional struggles, their bonding and how they come out of it are captured in the rest of the film.”

On selecting Jeevan, he says, “With the kind of roles Jeevan portrayed so far, we cannot judge if he is a hero or an anti-hero. I needed someone who has this kind of image for my lead protagonist and Jeevan fitted the bill. I am looking out for a performer for the female lead Jhansi, since it has a bearing in the script.”

Asariri is to do with sound. So, sound plays a crucial role in the film and hence we are looking out for a big music composer and sound designer, he adds. GK vouches that audiences would connect well with the proceedings.

Set in a hill station, the film has Maruthanayagam as cinematographer and ace Vairabalan as the art director.
