DSP kept Farhan Akhtar in mind while composing song

Akhtar was to make his south debut with Mahesh's earlier movie 1 Nenokkadine, but it didn't work out then.

Music composer Devi Sri Prasad reveals to us as how he brought B’town director/actor/singer/ on board to croon the number ‘I Don’t Know’ for Mahesh Babu in the Telugu film Bharat Ane Nenu, which is an intro song of the star in the movie.

Talking to DC, DSP said, “I met Farhan at an award function three years back. He was talking about my Hindi songs. I also told him that I loved his voice in his debut song in the film Rock On. I asked him why he couldn’t try singing in south films. He was apprehensive because he was unfamiliar with the language, but said that if I trust his voice, he could give it a shot. I told him not to worry about pronunciation, as I would take care of it. I said if anything suits his voice, I would call him.”

Akhtar was to make his south debut with Mahesh’s earlier movie 1 Nenokkadine, but it didn’t work out then. “Even as I composed the song ‘I Don’t know’, I kept Farhan in mind. When I asked him, he gladly agreed. Throughout the recording session in Mumbai, he was more worried about his Telugu accent, but to be honest, the song came out so well,” DSP reveals.

And with audiences lapping up the song, now going viral on online platforms, it is proof of Akhtar’s singing abilities.
