Vijay Sethupathi croons for Yuvan
Versatile actor Vijay Sethupathi has taken a new avatar, this time as a singer. He may have rendered a few lines in Siddharth Vipin’s music in Naan Pei Pesugiren, but this is the first time that he has crooned a full-fledged number for Yuvan Shankar Raja’s musical Pei Pasi, which apparently is also a film in the horror genre. The club song by VS is tipped to be the highlight of the film. Directed by Shrinivas Kaviinayan, the movie has Yuvan’s cousin brother Hari Krishnan Bhaskar as the male lead. The film has been shot totally in a departmental store. Says Yuvan, “The peppy club song required uniqueness both in terms of the voice and delivery mode. The first and foremost name that struck the unit was that of Sethupathi. The recording room was filled with positivity and the energy of the song had given a great push to the movie.”
Now, the big news is that Sethupathi, considered a lucky mascot for Karthik Subbaraj who is directing Rajini in his next, has reportedly cast the former in a powerful antagonist role. Vijay Sethupathi was the hero in Karthik’s debut film Pizza and then he did an extended cameo in Jigardhanda and then the lead in his last release Iraivi.
