Though the comedian-turned-hero Santhanam wishes to be paired with ‘A-list’ actresses like Hansika, Trisha and Nayanthara, looks like he has to settle for newcomers. After Vishaka Singh and Ashna Zaveri, it is now Vaibhavi who will romance Santhanam in his upcoming flick Server Sundaram.
Anand Balki tells us that his film needed a young heroine to play the role of a college student. “Though some of the big actresses were considered and they were also willing to be a part of the film, they could not allot dates due to my haywire shooting schedules, in locations like Dubai and Goa. Plus, I needed someone tomboyish to play the role of the character Sanjana in the film — Vaibhavi perfectly fit the bill! If you notice, the artistes in Malayalam, Bengali and Marathi films have an inborn instinct to quickly pick things up. Vaibhavi is also learning Tamil the same way.”
Vaibhavi, for her part, seems thrilled to debut in Tamil. Speaking to DC, she says, “I have watched some of Santhanam’s films. He is an amazing performer. I am happy to debut alongside him.”
