It's time to clean up the system Vishal
After the Madras High Court slammed The Tamil Film Producers Council for barring actor Vishal from the Council and ordered to revoke the ban, the TFPC in a statement on Friday said that they accepted the actor’s apology and cancelled his temporary suspension.
No sooner did Vishal win his battle with TFPC which made him eligible to contest the elections, that the actor, who is also the present secretary to Nadigar Sangam, announced that he would be contesting for the post of president at the forthcoming elections for the Producers Council, the most powerful body of the Tamil film industry. The elections for TFPC for the 2017-19 term is scheduled on March 5, 2017, which was announced a few days back by election officer, retired judge Justice S. Rajeswaran.
Vishal also filed his nomination papers for the post of president for TFPC on Friday with Kamal Haasan and Isari Ganesh proposing his name in the capacity of producers with owning banners Raaj Kamal Films International and Prabhu Deva Studios Ltd respectively.
In an exclusive, speaking to DC, Vishal said, “Time has come to clean up the
system and save my fraternity (producers). This was not a planned move. But
circumstances have forced me and I am bound to rise to the occasion. I am not doing it for myself and I look at it as an opportunity to serve my peers.”
It is learnt that he is also gearing up to kick-start his campaign and prepare the manifesto for the TFPC elections highlighting the present situations and need to rectify them.
