A few weeks back, it was reported that ace filmmaker Mysshkin would be joining hands with Udhayanidhi Stalin for a film titled Psycho with Aditi Rao Hydari and Nithya Menon essaying the lead ladies. It was alsos said that earlier Mysshkin had promised to cast newcomer actor Maitreya, son of film financier Raghunandhan and son-in-law of AVM Guhan as the lead protagonist in Psycho.
Maitreya has now uploaded an official video on social media platforms accusing director Mysshkin of cheating him and failing to honour his commitment.
He stated, “On July 10th, 2015, director Mysshkin, my father and I entered into an agreement to do a project where I will be playing the hero. After signing the agreement, my father had given Mysshkin a huge amount to initiate the process of making the film. However, Mysshkin said that he would start my project after he completes Savarakathi. But he failed to keep his word and when I approached him after a year, he said he has Thupparivalan with Vishal and needed more time, which we agreed.”
He adds after a pause, “I learnt the basics of acting and prepared myself for the role and even turned down few other offers which came my way. I met many people on the instruction from Mysshkin sir and I even had a photo shoot session for Psycho. I did not hear anything from Mysshkin for a year and when I approached him yet again, he stated that he is committed for a film Psycho and that he will neither do a film for us, nor return the money at the moment. The story of Psycho was written for me and I feel betrayed and my dreams have been shattered.”
Everyone has been telling the budding actor to handle the issue legally, since they have the agreement. “But out of all the respect and love, my dad and I have for sir, we wish to let him decide what he wants to do for this wrongness,” Maitreya signs off!
