Abhay Deol to play a king in Idhu Vedalam...
It was earlier reported that Abhay Deol will be playing a cameo in Kodaikanal Won’t fame Rathindran Prasad’s adventure fantasy film, Idhu Vedalam Sollum Kathai. But the director tells DC that the B’town actor will be seen in a full-fledged role around whom the story revolves.
Talking to us from a forest location near Hyderabad, where Abhay has joined the shoot, Prasad reveals, “Abhay is not playing a cameo. His role is very crucial to the script and he is essaying King Vikramadhitya in IVSK, which has a genre of fantasy elements, mixed into a road action thriller. He will be seen in the flashback portions which have a period setup.”
Yet another interesting fact, which Rathindran shared, was that besides making his Tamil debut, impressed with the script, Abhay has also gone on board as one of the producers for Idhu Vedalam….
Ask him about the makeover the Raanj- haana actor has undergone, the director reveals, “Abhay has shed several kilos to get a toned look. I did some sketches for his royallooks and we did a test photo shoot with necessary detailing and chose one of them. Also, since he wanted to dub his own voice for the character, as the filming is being done in live sync sound, we sent our lyricist Veronica to teach him Tamil and the specific diction that is needed for his role.”
