“I am ready to face any kind of threat for acting as the controversial social activist Traffic Ramasamy in the film with the same name. I have seen these political threats when I made my first film Sattam Oru Iruttarai. Later, when I launched my next flick Neethikku Dhandanai (Punishment for Justice), a day after Karunanidhi was arrested in MGR’s regime, I was intimidated. Even MGR called me once to his Ramavaram Gardens,” revealed an unfazed SA Chandrashekar who also produces the film on the promo meet of Traffic Ramasamy. While Rohini plays his wife, Upasana and RK Suresh play the leads. SAC’s assistant Vikki directs the movie.
Initially he was sceptical to act in the titular role, but the book One Man Army on the public interest litigator made him rethink his decision, Vikki tells us.
He adds, “There’s is a fight scene in the film, a scene in which a certain guy needs to hit the crooks and save me. That character will appear just for a scene. The director could have chosen any star to play that role but he wanted only Vijay to do that role. He came to me and said, ‘can you ask Vijay sir’. He thought that if I request Vijay, he would act. I told him, I wouldn’t ask Vijay sir, if I do, it will end up in trouble so let’s ask Vijay Antony.”
