Life after Kuttram 23

The Saattai actress also discloses that the training she took for Ayngaran also helped her in IAK.

Post Kuttram 23, it is safe to say that Mahima Nambiar has gotten a new lease of life. “All thanks to director Arivazhagan! I was not known well before Kuttram 23, but now I am getting exciting offers because of its success,” she fondly recalls.

The actress is currently busy with the GV Prakash starrer, Ayngaran, Arulnithi’s Iravukku Aayiram Kangal, and an untitled Malayalam film with Mammootty (directed by Ajay Vasudev). She says, “I think I have an affinity for crime-thrillers. Be it Kuttram 23 or Ennamo Nadakudhu or my upcoming films — they are all crime-thrillers that are different from one another. An interesting coincidence is that I play a nurse in both Ayngaran and IAK.”

Mahima calls Ayngaran’s director Ravi Arasu as ‘the sweetest person on earth’. “When he narrated the script, my introduction scene kept my attention intact. It is a song and Ravi Arasu’s portrayal of the character is top-notch. He is fun to work with and was very particular when it came to my costumes and apparels. The film is set in Namakkal, so I come in semi-urban clothes,” she discloses.

The Saattai actress also discloses that the training she took for Ayngaran also helped her in IAK. “There are a lot of close up shots in Ayngaran, so the director insisted that I go to a hospital to learn the basics. It was helpful for me in both the films.”

Even before the release of Kuttram 23, she was approached by director Maran of IAK. “He saw the songs from the movie and narrated the story to me. When I heard that Arulnithi is doing the film, I knew it would be a quality project. After the narration, I made up my mind to do this film. One can’t predict the twists and turns in the movie,” she concludes.
