Comedian Vivekh takes the new avatar of a serious cop in his upcoming crime thriller Vellai Pookkal, set entirely in the US. Vivekh says he was apprehensive if he would pull it off when the US based engineer Vivek Ilangovan from Microsoft, who directs the film, contacted him and narrated the one-liner.
“But he convinced me saying that audiences would lap up when unusual things come from unexpected people. I play a retired DIG (Intelligence) Rudhran who goes to the US to meet his son, with whom he has had a difference of opinion. A series of murders take place and with his police instincts not allowing him to be a mere spectator, how he solves the case forms the rest of the riveting thriller.”
Charle, Pooja Devariya, Dev, and Hollywood actress Paige Henderson are the other lead artistes. Trident Arts releases the film worldwide on April 19.
