The promo posters of a new film titled Adra Machchan Visilu where Powerstar Srinivasan looks like kissing the legendary MGR and a still where he is in Rajinikanth’s Murattu Kaalai rural look, has created a lot of buzz in K’town. With elections around the corner, this gimmick didn’t go well with MGR fans! But, director Thiraivannan denies that he is not spoofing the iconic actors.
“The film, which features Siva and Sandalwood actress Naina Sarwar, has a Tamil cinema backdrop and hence it was prerogative for us to use such scenes. It will not hurt anybody’s sentiments. Moreover, we aren’t big enough to make a spoof on someone like Rajini sir. When you watch the film, you will know,” he claims.
Ask him if those distributors who created havoc when they were affected by Rajini’s Lingaa fiasco hasmade the movie, he is quick to respond. “No, not all! Adra…. has been produced by Gopi.”
