Filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s beautifully-crafted Roja is still fondly remembered by all. The film catered to a pan-Indian audience and that made the box-offices hum, when it was released in 1992. It’s well-known that Mani canned the whole film in the valleys of Kashmir.
Now, after 24 years, the filmmaker has chosen this locale as his milieu for his next, which features Karthi and Sai Pallavi, of Premam fame in the lead. When asked if Karthi plays a pilot in the movie, all he says is that he’s thrilled that he could work with his mentor in a film finally! Karthi smiles, “Except for the fact that I am a part of Mani sir’s project, I have no clue of what the film is about.”
Cinematographer Ravi Varman has been brought on board for Mani’s film for the first time. A source from the latter’s office tells us that the first schedule of the flick is being canned in Kashmir. Also, rumours are abuzz that Sai Pallavi essays the role of a doctor, while AR Rahman collaborates with Mani for the 13th time in this untitled venture.
