Anushka Shetty is being considered for the Telugu remake of Jyothika-starrer.

Actress Jyothika recently played a cop in Tamil film Naachiyaar, directed by Bala. After the film released in Tamil, the Telugu dubbing rights were bought by Kalpana Koneru. And although the makers wanted to release the Telugu version immediately, director Bala suggested a remake.
“They bought the film for nearly '90 lakh, but the director wants to remake it with a popular female lead like Anushka,” says a source, especially as the actress can pull crowds into the theatres as proven with her recent film Bhaagamathie.
“The producer now wants to approach Anushka for the same,” adds the source.
However, if Anushka does not agree for the remake, the makers will have no other option but to release the dubbed version of the film.
