Looks like every other Tamil movie is facing trouble during its release. Jiiva- Sibiraj-Hansika starrer Pokkiri Raja is one of them. There are rumours making the rounds that the film, produced by PT Selvakumar and directed by Ramprakash Rayappa, will not hit the screens as scheduled on March 4. The distributors were claiming previous losses incurred from the Vijay starrer Puli, for which PTS was one of the producers.
Talking to DC, a peeved PTS says, “I have never undergone a nightmarish experience like the one I am confronting now. Till recently, uncertainty prevailed with respect to Pokkiri Raja’s release.
Despite it getting sorted out on Tuesday with the federation of distributors, in the presence of Tamil Film Producers Council and my best friend T. Rajhendar mediating the issue the whole night, people have been spreading unwanted tales about my movie. It petrified me! I profusely thank TR for his great support during my hour of need.
The movie will release as planned in 400 theaters on March 4.” TR, for his part, said, “Today’s film industry totally operates in a different manner unlike earlier. It is now a tough task for a producer to make a film and bring it to the marquee.”
