Gayathrie, who shot to fame with Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanum, is once again teaming up with Vijay Sethupathi in Puriyadha Pudhir, earlier titled as Mellisai. This film, directed by Ranjith Jeyakodi, is a psychological thriller.
Happy with the reception for the trailer, Gayathrie says, “I play a violin teacher in this film — and even took classes to learn to play the rhymes and tunes that come in the movie. Performance-wise, learning something new was exciting as well. Also, I am happy with the way Ranjith has treated my character.”

The Rummy actress is all praises for her co-star Vijay Sethupathi. “Even if he was not in the scene, he would stand behind the camera and act with the same intensity with which he does in front of it! I think Puriyadha Pudhir will be a milestone in my career,” she adds.

Regarding the title change, Gayathrie feels that both Mellisai and Puriyadha Pudhir are apt for the flick. “I’ve never heard of the phrase Puriyadha Pudhir until the title was changed. I think the new title will indicate that there is suspense in this movie. “

The actress signs off saying that’s she been stereotyped in this industry — “After NPNK, the films I was a part of did not stand out. I have been receiving several offers from other industries as well. I want to be extremely careful in choosing films hereafter.”
