Vishnu Manchu debuts in Tamil

Directed by GS Karthik, the film has Surabhi in the female lead. Kural 388 is set against the political backdrop.

After Mahesh Babu, who recently forayed into Kollywood with Spyder, another Tollywood actor Vishnu Manchu wants to try his luck in K’town with a Tamil film. The son of veteran actor Mohan Babu will be debuting in a Tamil-Telugu bilingual named Kural 388, which is titled Voter in Telugu.

Directed by GS Karthik, the film has Surabhi in the female lead. Kural 388 is set against the political backdrop.

Talking about making his movie as a bilingual simultaneously Karthik says, “The film has a universal concept and would go well with any type of audiences. Hence we thought of making it in Tamil as well. The film delves into how a voter is the most powerful man in a democratic set up. But at the end of the day, he/she seldom gets the due respect, which is the crux of the movie.”

The plot is built on the 388th ‘Thirukkural’, the world class Tamil literary piece. He adds, “Vishnu was also keen on making a mark in Tamil as the audiences here are receptive to good content.

I am confident that it would be a milestone flick for Vishnu. We have also brought on board popular vernacular journalist Ravishankar to pen the Tamil dialogues.”

While Thaman composes the tracks, the supporting cast includes Sampath Raj, Posani Krishna Murali, Nasser, Pragathi, Monish Khan, Thalaivasal Vijay, Brahmaji, Supreet and Shravan among others.
