Vivek gets appreciation for his anti-hero role

The film featured Sathyaraj in a crucial role with Varalaxmi romancing Vivek and ace Kishore playing a key character.

Vivek Rajagopal who debuted in the lead role in Sarjun’s Echarikkai-Idhu Manithargal Nadamaadum Idam is a contented man. The film featured Sathyaraj in a crucial role with Varalaxmi romancing Vivek and ace Kishore playing a key character. “I am happy with the kind of acclaim I am getting for my performance,” he says with a smile.

A product of prestigious acting school Kooth-p-pattarai with his tutelage under none other than Guru Somasundaram of Jokerfame, Vivek’s journey into films seems interesting. “When I heard that Sarjun who was into short films was ready to start his mainstream film, I was just following him for a work opportunity. I knew that he was looking out for relatively known actors and even considering them. Still I pursued my passion and it was a learning curve for me as what the directors expect out of actors while choosing them. At one point, much to my surprise he said that I am essaying the role Thomas. I was touched by his gesture. Having chosen some seasoned artistes like Sathyaraj sir and Kishore sir, and Varalaxmi, Sarjun could have opted for a well-known actor for the lead. Thanks for the trust he had in me.”

Sharing his experience of working with Sathyaraj, the actor says, “I was quite nervous on day one. I had formed a different image about him in my mind. Breaking my misgivings, Sathyaraj sir was so down to earth and is a friendly person.” On Varu he says, “I was wondering how Varalaxmi would accept to act opposite a newcomer. She was quite professional and encouraged me and was helpful.
