Kiran Bedi's request to Rajinikanth
It is known that Superstar Rajinikanth enjoys an iconic status in Tamil Nadu and its neighboring states — and attracts people of all ages through his onscreen charisma as well his off-screen activities.
On an earlier occasion, fans and a few political outfits of TN urged Rajinikanth to be the brand ambassador — and now, it looks like it is Puducherry’s turn! A collector from one of the districts of the Union Territory has found a unique way to encourage people to use public service. Realising Rajini’s star power, enormous influence and fan following among the people of Puducherry, he has offered free tickets of the actor’s upcoming film Kabali to all those who make use of the public services provided by the government!
Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi who took charge as Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry recently, and is also highly active on her social networking media, stated — ‘Collector in Pondicherry is using gift of tickets of Kabali as incentive for use of public services! It is working!!’.
Responding to her followers in other tweets, she also requested Rajinikanth to take up the cause and become the brand ambassador of Prosperous Puducherry so as to reduce the concern of open defecation.
Ms Bedi addded, “When Superstar Rajinikanth is the ambassador for Swachch and Prosperous Puducerry, it will include changing of old habits”.
Recently, Legends Media, the distributor who has bought Thanu-produced and Ranjith-directed Kabali in Puducherry, met CM Narayanaswami and Kiran Bedi — and urged them to curb piracy of the film.
The distributor has also announced that he would provide free first-day first-show tickets of Kabali to those who kept their locality clean.
