Seenu relies on Kamal Haasan for IPE's release

The director is upbeat about his line-up of projects. He is now in the process of fine-tuning two of his scripts.

Seenu Ramasamy, who gave his second national award-winning film, Dharmadurai, has been missing in action for almost a year. The director is upbeat about his line-up of projects. He is now in the process of fine-tuning two of his scripts.

He reveals, “I always see that I have a bound script before going on floors. Now, I have two scripts read — I have narrated one of them to Sasikumar and he has also liked it and the other script is for my protégé, Vijay Sethupathi.”

Elaborating on the project, he reveals, “I want to register the life of people who live in interior Tamil Nadu. So, I set my milieu there, which is an integral part of my movies. Sasikumar’s flick is no different. He plays a man, whose family belongs to the original Congress and believes in humanism. They are farmers by profession.”

Sasikumar will be seen in a character, which is completely new from what he had donned so far. Seenu adds,“I am just waiting for his dates.”

Ask him about his yet another ambitious movie, Idam Porul Eval, with his favorite actor, Vijay Sethupathi in the lead, he takes a little while to answer. The movie, which is produced by director Lingusamy’s home banner, is reportedly caught in a financial hassle. “IPE has shaped up very well. Those who watched the sneak peek of the flick also feel the same. All I can say at this point is that if Kamal Haasan sir comes forward and helps Lingusamy with the reported losses they incurred due to Uttama Villain (produced by Lingusamy), there’s a bright chance that my film will hit the marquee soon enough.”

The Neerparavai director also mentions that it was another film Anjaan (which didn’t do well at the box-office) released by the same banner, that has also put Idam Porul Eval on the backburner.
