Of late, it looks like forest thrillers are a favorite among K’town filmmakers. After Kadamban, which has Arya in the lead, and Vanamagan with Jayam Ravi, here is yet another film — Uru —  a psychological thriller set in the backdrop of a forest. While Dhanshika (who is still riding high on her Kabali performance) plays the female protagonist, Kalaiyarasan will be seen essaying the male lead as a writer

Vicky Anand, who has a fashion designing background, debuts as the director of Uru.  Speaking about his plot, Vicky says, “It is about a fallen writer who is considered outdated — and tries to bounce back after he sees a series of incidents in a day’s time. He decides to write a thriller and leaves for Megamalai to write the novel. There he encounters unforeseen incidents, which makes him rethink his idea of visiting the place!”

The director adds that he is a big fan of Quentin Tarantino and entered tinsel town inspired by his movies. “Here in Uru, the lead hero’s character is inspired from my own life, i.e, how he reacts to situations etc. Dhanshika plays Kalaiyarasan’s wife in a bold and assertive role”, Vicky concludes.
