A promising year for Vamsi Krishna

The Thani Oruvan actor is also making his foray in Sandalwood.

Vamsi is one of the most sought-after antagonists in Tamil and Telugu industries. The actor who was last seen in Gautham Karthik’s Muthuramalingam is now having a slew of Tamil projects in different stages of production.

As he awaits the release of Kuttram 23, his second release of the year, he gets all pumped up. Speaking to DC, he reveals, “In Kuttram 23 I don’t play a regular villain — it is more of a sophisticated, suave villain with a wicked mind. It was so good to be a part of a stylish medical thriller, directed by Arivazhagan.”

Vamsi gets nostalgic when asked about Arun Vijay. “It is because of him that I have entered the Tamil industry with Thadaiyara Thaaka. I have also acted in Vaa Deal, which is yet to see the light of the day. From then he has been my good friend and I didn’t listen to script when I got on board. It was the confidence that I had in Arun Vijay. After I got to hear the narration, I was in awe of Arivazhagan’s compelling way of storytelling and the detailing in the script. I shot my portions at a single stretch, so it was easy for me to stay in my character for those 10 days,” he elaborates.

The Thani Oruvan actor is also making his foray in Sandalwood — “I am playing a parallel hero to Shivarajkumar in Leader. I have a pair in the film and we shot the entire film in Kashmir.”

He also plays a baddie in Trisha’s Garjanai, Siddharth’s Shaitan Ka Bachcha and Vimal’s MannarVagera. Talking about his characters, he quips, “My role in Shaitan.. is crazy and for the first time I have experimented with my looks. I also shot for Garjanai in Karaikudi and Chennai. I still have 10 days of shoot left for both the films.”
