With elections around the corner, the debate over who the fans of big stars like Rajinikanth, Kamal, Vijay and Ajith support, has already started on various online platforms.
Though Rajini is said to be a BJP supporter, sources close to the actor say that he will remain neutral during the forthcoming TN state assembly elections. Reportedly, he has not given any instructions to his huge fan base as to who they should vote for. His stand is clear — you vote for whoever you think is right, and he will do the same.
After roping in Suriya, Karthi, and sport personalities like Ravichandran Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik and Dipika Pallikkal for their election awareness programme, through short films and videos, the Election Commission now wants Rajinikanth, the most influential star of Tamil cinema, to join them!
Election Commissioner, Rajesh Lakhani, has sent an official invitation to the Superstar to take part in the video. Lakhani revealed that these stars would not take any remuneration for their contribution, as they participate to raise awareness.
One may recall that Lakhani put Rajini’s punch lines from his films to good use on social media — as an initiative to motivate youngsters to cast their vote this year.
