Jiiva's Gorilla shot mainly in Thailand

Directed by Don Sandy, it has an ensemble cast of Radha Ravi, Sathish, Munishkanth, Yogi Babu, and Rajendran.

A real chimpanzee plays a key role for the first time in the history of Indian cinema in Jiiva's action adventure film Gorilla. The flick in which Jiiva is teaming up with Shalini Pandey went on floors recently in Pondicherry. Directed by Don Sandy, it has an ensemble cast of Radha Ravi, Sathish, Munishkanth, Yogi Babu, and Rajendran.

Sam CS of Vikram Vedha fame is composing the music for Gorilla, Vetri Mahendran will crank the camera and Ruben is in charge of the cuts. “We are planning to shoot major portions of the film during a one-month long schedule in Thailand. The entire shoot of the family entertainer will be wrapped up in April and we are aiming for a summer release,” the makers say.

The Samut training station in Thailand trains the chimp named Kong for the role and hence the shooting of a major chunk of Gorilla is taking place there, a source reveals.
