Chiranjeevi wanted Tammu as his pair, Charan fulfilled it

He was in the city to promote his upcoming biographical epic action film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.

After a long time, I am touching the soil where I was born. I feel excited as well as tensed,” remarked actor Chiranjeevi. He was in the city to promote his upcoming biographical epic action film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.

Talking about how Sye Raa happened Chiranjeevi said, “I heard the story of Sye Raa 12 years back and it was my dream to make this film since then. Because of budget constraints, it couldn’t materialise. After Khaidhi No 150 success, I asked Ram Charan why not we ourselves produce Sye Raa? Usually, it is fathers who promote their sons in the film industry and in my case, it’s vice versa (laughs). And Charan’s second flick itself was a period film. I could achieve this only after completing 150 films. This film is a tribute to the freedom fighters, who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our country.”

Charan on his part recalled an interesting incident. “When Appa came for the pooja of one my films, where Tamannah was present. He remarked that if at all he makes a comeback in movies, Tamannah would be his heroine. I was shocked when he said that as she was working with young heroes like me and even asked him how could he expect that to happen. That’s the magic of cinema and today it has come true. Tamannah has done a great job.”

Heaping praises on Vijay Sethupathi who makes his Telugu debut, he said, “I am a big fan of Sethupathi. I was moved and tears started coming watching his performance in 96. He is down-to-earth and his performance is really astounding.”

He thanked Kamal Haasan who has given a three-minute voiceover and Arvind Swamy for voluntarily coming forward and dubbing for his dad in the Tamil version.

The film, directed by Surender Reddy, is simultaneously releasing in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada on October 2.
