Jayam Ravi attributes TTT success to receptive audience

He had been initially been sceptical about how the genre would be accepted by the people.

Jayam Ravi became emotional at the thanksgiving meet of his recent hit, which is the space film Tik Tik Tik, directed by Sakthi Soundarrajan. He had been initially been sceptical about how the genre would be accepted by the people.

“I attribute the success to audiences for receiving an experimental film,” is hiw he starts the conversation. Ravi thanked the entire team for putting their best efforts and making TTT a blockbuster. The film, which also explores father-son bonding, had his eight-year-old son Aarav Ravi debuting as his reel son in a crucial role.

The Peraanmai actor was virtually in a state of ecstasy when saying, “I am going through mixed emotions and understand what’s the role of ‘appa’ now after my son made his debut in Tik Tik Tik. I recall my appa’s joy and emotional feel when he made my first film Jayam. Appa used to go to Kodambakkam bridge every day where a banner of Jayam was erected and stop the car and look at the banner at least for 20 minutes. I did not realise what was going through his mind then. Now, I am experiencing the same feel (smiles)”.

Talking more about Aarav, he says, “He is a hyperactive child. I was wondering as to how to make him sit in one place. Much to our surprise, he was so focused and while on the sets he would quietly watch everyone performing.” He also revealed that he would venture into direction when his son is ready to become a hero. Incidentally, it was Aarav’s birthday and the team celebrated it by cutting a cake on stage.
