Several top stars of Kollywood and filmmakers are Mumbai bound now. Take a look at the filmmakers who are making a beeline to the maximum city.
DARBAR
Darbar, the 167th offering of Rajinikanth in AR Murugadoss’s direction went on floors a few weeks ago in Mumbai. The cop action drama has Nayanthara playing Rajini’s pair. Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, the film has a prominent role for Yogi Babu too.
DABANGG 3
The action drama is a sequel to Salman Khan-Prabhu Deva’s earlier blockbusters with the same name. This is the third film in the Dabangg series. Salman and Sonakshi have played lead roles in all the films. After completing a schedule in Indore, the action sequences between Salman and Kannada star Sudeep is to commence in Mumbai this week.
UYARNDHA MANIDHAN
Actor-filmmaker SJ Suryah pulled a coup of sorts by getting superstar Amitabh Bachchan to give his nod to a Tamil film for the very first time in his distinguished acting career. The film titled Uyarndha Manidhan (Tall Man) is being made in Tamil and Hindi and directed by Tamizhvaanan. Recently, Suriyah shared few stills of the Big B from sets erected for the film in Mumbai.
LAAXMI BOMB
After tasting success with Muni-Kanchana horror comedy franchise, actor/filmmaker Raghava Lawrence is making his debut as a filmmaker in Bollywood with the remake of Kanchana. Titled Laaxmi Bomb in Hindi, it has Akshay Kumar reprising the role played by Lawrence while Amitabh plays the role of a transgender that Sarathkumar did in Tamil. Lawrence shared a still with Akki from Mumbai.
SASIKUMAR’S NEXT
Sasikumar’s next action adventure in Nirmal Kumar’s direction is moving to Mumbai for its next schedule. Since the story shifts to Mumbai, a 25-days shooting schedule is being planned there.
BIRSA MUNDA
Pa Ranjith is making his foray in B’town with the biopic of Birsa Munda, the tribal freedom fighter, religious leader and folk hero from Bihar who fought the British in pre-Independence India. The film is primarily in Hindi and Pa Ranjith has said he is in talks with a prominent actor from B’town to feature as Birsa Munda.
