We all know Rajinikanth’s Kaala will hit the screens on June 7 and the audio launch is scheduled for May 9. Producer of the film Dhanush has also announced that Kaala’s 1st single ‘Semmaweightu’ will be released this evening at 7 pm. An informed source says the business for the film is soaring with each day.
In many of the posters released, Thalaivar is seen resting on a Thar Jeep and the owner of the automobile brand, Anand Mahindra, took to social media to comment, ‘The Thar is honoured to be chosen as Superstar’s chariot...’
It seems this was Mahindra’s reaction to a newspaper story. He wrote, “What I saw first thing this morning on the front page of the newspaper. No need for much comment. The Thar is honoured to be the chosen chariot.” Apparently, he meant what appeared on a newspaper which read, ‘Rajini glories the colour black as a symbol of the honest poor and questioning whether this would be India’s ‘Black Panther’ moment.’
One may recall that almost a year back when the poster first appeared, Anand had requested Dhanush, the producer of Kaala, to give the jeep to him after the shoot gets over. He wished to acquire the Thar SUV for the company museum.
Despite people pointing out it was a photo shopped vehicle and others saying it is a fictional number plate as MH 01 BR 1956 in the poster is registered against a Piaggio cargo delivery van in Mumbai, Anand was unfazed. He said, “The car that was photo shopped is still a collector’s item!” Akin to any other Rajini starrer, Kaala is getting its usual hype.
