Isha Talwar, the Mumbai starlet who made her Tamil debut with the remake of Rajinikanth’s Thillu Mullu a few years back, could not make it big despite being a performance-oriented actress. The svelte girl is now back with the movie Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai, which is a remake of blockbuster Malayalam film Thattathin Marayatthu. Interestingly, it was Isha who did the sensitive role of a Muslim girl in the original, and even won critical acclaim, besides bagging a few awards. Walter Phillips debuts as the hero.

Mithran Jawahar, who has directed Dhanush in a few films including Yaaradi Nee Mohini, wields the megaphone after a gap. It is the story of a Hindu boy who falls in love with a Muslim girl, and the conflict arising out of this. GV Prakash, who has also become busy as an actor of late, has composed music for the romantic musical, Meendum Oru...

A single track Mai Pottu, which has been rendered by several singers including Velmurugan has been released today. "It is the first melody-based song crooned by Velmurugan, who is generally known for his kutthu numbers. The track is set against the backdrop of a grand wedding, and is sure to hit the charts," says Mithran.

Choreographed by Brindha, the song was shot in Kerala. Says Brindha, "Walter Phillips is a good dancer. I have known him even as he was learning dance at his sister’s dance school." The movie is set to be released under Kalaipuli Thanu’s banner.
